Internships

An intern training workshop for students and recent graduates ages 13 and older is to be held to explore the humanity and contemporary relevance in the stories of Shakespeare. The participants will meet and inhabit characters that resemble people alive today.

A pre-selected group of students will assemble after school at the Sol Theatre in Downtown Boca Raton, near Mizner Park, the Boca High School and the Brightline. The participants will learn about the stories, characters and language of Shakespeare. They will learn how to work as an ensemble, initially with warm-up exercises and trust-building theater games designed to help with the self-consciousness of acting with strangers. Teaching artists will help students realize the contemporary nature of the themes in the plays that are studied.

The workshop concludes with a public showcase.

During the workshop, a limited number of trainees will be selected to be assigned as interns for the run of Shakespeare Troupe's staged readings, on the first 2 weekends in April.

Interns will help with marketing graphics, social media promotions, backstage crew duties, assistant stage management, administrative duties as well as creative aspects, including understudy of roles, depending on commitment and availability for performance.

Internship Workshop occurs on Mondays in March 2025.
